Shoot for the Moon! Photo-A-Day 2014 - Day 1: Leading Lines

I enjoyed the photo-a-day project I did last year so much that I decided to do it again this year.  My goal is to post one photo per day for the entire year, but I am expecting my first baby in March, so I'm going to cut myself some slack if I don't make it!  You know what they say:  "Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss you'll land among the stars".  In any case, it's a fun challenge for a new year, and a great way to get to do what I love every day.

Today I decided to work on leading lines.  Leading lines are lines that draw the viewer's eye towards the subject.  Hayden & I went for a lovely walk around the Cedar Hill Golf Course today (FYI: The New Year's Day hike/walk is one of our yearly traditions), and I noticed these lines on the building right away.  Luckily, Hayden is usually willing to model for me.  Isn't he dreamy?  Those EYES!!!  Amiright??!!

And, for your viewing pleasure, I've included a couple more images I made today, just because.

Feel free to email me your suggestions of themes to sparkandwhimsy@gmail.com.  I'd love to hear from you!  And if you like my images, I'd be honoured if you'd "like" me on Facebook

Wishing you a prosperous, kind, loving, healing year in 2014!  Thanks for reading :)

I love the moodiness of black and white.

I LOVE moss & lichen.  I think it's pretty much one of the coolest things on earth.  It turns things back to soil.  How amazing is that?

Couldn't decide which shot I liked better, so you get to see both.  It's all about abundance of goodness around here this year :)

Capturing more creative photos using reflections and raindrops is another goal I have this year.  Why not start today?!
